The Continuing Lay Training (CLT) office will begin conducting conference calls to meet the needs of laity in the areas of ministry development and discipleship. The ministry development track will be designed to cover a wide range of ministry topics including how to become a better Sunday School teacher, how to work effectively with children and youth, and how to have a successful women's or men's ministry. The discipleship track will include discussions centered upon developing spiritual disciplines such as studying the Bible and cultivating a prayer life.

The format of the calls will be 10-15 minutes of information from the host followed by a question and answer time. This format will not only enable the CLT office to stay in touch with the needs of laity but will also provide a convenient forum for laity to connect with one another for the purpose of encouragement and the sharing of ideas.

Our first call will be Thursday, July 10, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. CST, hosted by Rev. Derl Keefer. Derl will help callers think about the purpose of Sunday School and how to make Sunday School a thriving ministry within the local church.
